How Do Women With Histories Of Miscarriage - 1043 Words

Qualitative: How do women with histories of miscarriage view the use of supplemental progesterone in early pregnancy? To properly evaluate this qualitative research question there are a few things that I would like to do before I began this study on a large scale. First, this study is based on the assumption that while the use supplemental progesterone in early pregnancy has not proven to be statistically significant in the prevention of miscarriage; benefits have been shown to its use. I would want to perform a meta-analysis of the data to ensure that the efforts of this study are not misguided using this assumption. According to Haidich (2010), a â€Å"meta-analysis is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design used to systematically assess previous research studies to derive conclusions about that body of research.† Secondly, there are very few studies that investigate this question. Thus, I feel that it would be important to run a pilot study first to plan the design for this study thoroughly.
